Islamabad: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced plans to create a structured pipeline of quality human resources for key international markets, including Saudi Arabia, aimed at generating economic impact for both nations. This announcement came during his discussion with Saudi Arabian Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference 2026 for Emerging Market Economies, held in Saudi Arabia.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting saw discussions on Saudi investments in Pakistan and bilateral economic cooperation. The Saudi Minister emphasized the high-quality artificial intelligence and technology talent emerging from Pakistan, noting its global ranking among the top one or two. He expressed Saudi Arabia’s interest in leveraging this talent to support the Kingdom’s ongoing technological transformation.
The Saudi Minister also referenced Eric Schmidt, the US businessman and former CEO of Google, who has acknowledged the potential of Pakistani technology professionals. Further, he mentioned progress on the GCC Free Trade Agreement, stressing the importance of enhancing trade and exchanges with Pakistan.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb assured that dedicated teams from Pakistan are actively engaged in finalizing Saudi Arabia’s investment commitments. He also appreciated the Saudi government for organizing the strategically significant AlUla Conference and thanked Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to Pakistan’s economic growth.
