Pakistan Secures Meat Export Market in Azerbaijan, KATI President Urges Wider Trade Opportunities

Karachi: The President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Mohammad Ikram Rajput, announced a significant development in Pakistan’s trade sector, highlighting the country’s success in gaining market access for meat exports to Azerbaijan. He emphasized that this achievement represents a promising opportunity for expanding Pakistan’s trade footprint in Central Asian markets.

Rajput lauded the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for its efforts in this success, noting that it could have broader implications beyond the meat industry. He pointed out that sectors such as food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and engineering could also benefit from enhanced market access.

Highlighting the quality of products manufactured in Karachi, Rajput stressed the importance of improved trade diplomacy at the governmental level. He urged for more proactive strategies to ensure effective entry into new markets.

According to Rajput, countries like Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan offer substantial potential for Pakistani exports due to rising demand for halal food products, textiles, and industrial goods. He called on the government to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) delegations to these regions to establish direct commercial relationships and explore new export avenues.

KATI is actively working with TDAP and the Ministry of Commerce to assist Karachi’s industrial exporters, providing essential guidance on target markets, logistics, and trade regulations. Rajput emphasized that prioritizing regional trade within Pakistan’s export policy is crucial for achieving sustainable economic growth.

Expressing a hopeful outlook, Rajput conveyed that with a coordinated strategy involving all stakeholders, Pakistan is poised to strengthen its trade presence and become a significant player in the Central Asian region in the near future.
