Pakistan Seeks Enhanced Energy Investments from Chinese Firms at Shaanxi Conference

Islamabad: Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik has called on Chinese enterprises from Shaanxi province to increase their investments in Pakistan’s energy sector, emphasizing collaboration and technology transfer during a speech at the China (Shaanxi)-Pakistan Conference for Economic and Trade Cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Malik spoke on the sidelines of the 8th Silk Road International Expo, where Pakistan was honored as the Guest Country. He expressed gratitude towards the Shaanxi Government for their hospitality and the organization of the Pakistan Pavilion at the expo.

The Minister highlighted the recent visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Xi’an and described Pakistan’s active participation in the expo as a continuation of this diplomatic outreach. He detailed opportunities for cooperation between top Pakistani companies in the upstream, mid-stream, and downstream petroleum and coal sectors with their counterparts in Shaanxi.

Dr. Malik stressed the importance of provincial-level collaborations and strengthening Business to Business (B2B) linkages across various sectors, including mining, petroleum, energy, and technology. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering shared growth and sustainable development through win-win cooperation and building enduring friendships.
