Pakistan Seeks Urgent Climate Support for Vulnerable Nations

Islamabad: Pakistan has called for urgent and equitable climate finance, enhanced technology transfer, and stronger global cooperation to support climate-vulnerable countries.

According to Radio Pakistan, the call was made at a series of high-level events organized on the sidelines of the UN Climate Summit in Belem, Brazil, by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination. The events organized by the Ministry served as a major platform to showcase Pakistan’s climate challenges, adaptation priorities, and ongoing initiatives.

International participants commended Pakistan’s substantive engagement at COP30, noting that the country has emerged as a vocal advocate for equity-based climate governance and reform of global finance architecture. Delegates also called for greater regional cooperation within South Asia and encouraged developed countries to fulfill their financial and technological commitments.

Pakistan’s delegation underscored that while the country remained committed to lowering emissions and strengthening domestic resilience, a just transition required sustained partnerships to allow developing nations to progress without compromising growth and human development.
