Pakistan Strengthens Rail Connectivity with Central Asia: Hanif

Islamabad: Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has announced that Pakistan is actively working on significant regional projects aimed at enhancing rail links with Central Asian countries. During a meeting with US Charg© d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker, Abbasi emphasized that establishing railway connections to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Nokkundi, and Gwadar will foster trade and connectivity throughout the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, both Pakistan and the United States have agreed to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan Railways’ infrastructure and modern technology. The discussions highlighted potential areas for US investment, including locomotives, wagons, freight operations, and railway technology.

The US Charg© d’Affaires assured Hanif Abbasi of her commitment to encouraging American companies and investors to consider investing in Pakistan Railways. This cooperation is expected to bring significant advancements to the country’s railway sector, promoting economic growth and regional collaboration.
