Pakistan to Host National Girls Sports Carnival in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the organization of a Girls Sports Carnival at the Pakistan Sports Complex from October 18 to October 20, 2024. This event aims to highlight and promote sports participation among female students from across Pakistan, including the regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

According to Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training announcement issued on 09 October 2024, the carnival is set to host approximately 4,000 girl athletes in a grand celebration of sports. The event, a collaboration between the Federal Board of Education and the Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad, is designed to empower young women and foster a supportive environment for showcasing their sports talents. Various competitions will be held across disciplines such as track and field, basketball, football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and tennis.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 18, 2024, underscoring the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing fitness and health culture among young women. The preparations, closely reviewed by Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz and the Federal Secretary for Education and Vocational Training, aim to ensure a diverse and inclusive gathering, reflecting the participation from all provinces.
