Pakistan, Turkiye to Cement Energy Sector Cooperation

Islamabad: Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari says the government is actively pursuing the privatization of its power distribution companies to ensure long-term sustainability and efficiency. He expressed these views during a virtual meeting with Turkiye’s Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.

According to Radio Pakistan, Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari emphasized that the privatization process is being carried out in a transparent, competitive, and well-structured manner. The Minister highlighted that Turkish companies could play a constructive role in the successful privatization of Pakistan’s distribution companies.

In his remarks, Turkiye’s Minister Alparslan Bayraktar noted that Turkish investors are closely following developments in Pakistan’s power sector and have shown considerable interest in the privatization process.
