Pakistan Updates National Control List for Export Licensing

Islamabad: Pakistan has officially revised its National Control List, which outlines items requiring an export license from the Strategic Export Control Division. This update comes under the Export Control on Goods, Technologies, Material and Equipment related to Nuclear and Biological Weapons and their Delivery Systems Act, 2004.

According to Radio Pakistan, the latest revision ensures ongoing alignment with the control lists maintained by international bodies such as the Nuclear Suppliers Group, the Missile Technology Control Regime, and the Australia Group. This update is part of the Strategic Export Control Division’s routine review process, aiming to keep Pakistan’s national controls current, effective, and in sync with global standards.

The notification highlights Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its export control regime. It underscores the nation’s dedication as a responsible technology-holder state to non-proliferation objectives and fulfilling international obligations. The revised lists have been published in the Gazette of Pakistan and are accessible on the website secdiv.gov.pk.
