Pakistan Urges Global Support for Affordable Clean Energy Transition

New York: Pakistan has urged the international community to implement supportive policies that would enable financially constrained developing nations to transition to clean energy at a lower cost. The appeal was made during an event marking the ‘International Day of Clean Energy’ at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, highlighted the financial challenges faced by developing countries. Ambassador Jadoon emphasized that these nations, with limited fiscal capacity, struggle to invest in expensive energy projects without improved access to concessional financing.

The call for action aims to address the critical need for affordable clean energy solutions, which are essential for sustainable development. By advocating for concessional financing, Pakistan seeks to promote a more equitable energy transition on a global scale.
