Pakistan Urges Iran for Swift Action Following Killing of Nationals

Tehran: Pakistan’s Embassy in Tehran and its Consulate in Zahidan are actively engaging with Iranian authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the recent killing of Pakistani nationals in Iran. The aim is to ensure that those responsible for this act are brought to justice.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office Spokesperson released a statement urging Iranian authorities to expedite the repatriation of the victims’ remains to Pakistan. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Mehrestan County, Sistan-Baluchistan province, approximately 230 kilometers from the Pakistan-Iran border, resulting in the death of eight Pakistani nationals. The Pakistan Mission has requested consular access to verify the identities of the deceased.

The statement emphasized that the leadership and people of Pakistan are deeply saddened and disturbed by the tragic event. The Prime Minister has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families. Pakistan strongly condemns the killing of its nationals and expects full cooperation from the Iranian side in the investigation and timely repatriation of the victims’ remains.
