Pakistan Urges UN Security Council to Curb Israeli Actions Against Iran

Karachi: Pakistan has called on the UN Security Council to stop Israeli aggression against Iran immediately and hold the aggressor accountable.

According to Radio Pakistan, addressing the United Nations Security Council, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized that the Council must deny Israel the free hand and the impunity with which it continues to operate in defiance of international laws against Iran.

He highlighted that Iran has the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and pointed out that Israel’s actions in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen reflect a continuing pattern of unilateral militarism.

Asim Iftikhar stressed that Israel’s blatant provocations pose a grave threat to regional peace and stability. Pakistan, as an immediate neighbor of Iran, is, therefore, seriously concerned.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the resolution of the Iran nuclear issue through peaceful means.
