Pakistani Female Police Officer Wins Prestigious International Award

Boston: A Pakistani female police officer has been honored with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) 2024 Award, marking a significant achievement on the global stage. Superintendent Banish Fatima was recognized at the IACP’s annual conference in the United States, standing out as the only Pakistani woman to win this year.

According to Punjab Police, Superintendent Banish Fatima received the accolade from the president of the IACP during the event in Boston. Her selection underscores her notable contributions to policing and her role as a representative of Pakistan in this prestigious forum. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar lauded SP Fatima for elevating the profile of both Pakistan and the Punjab Police internationally, highlighting her as a model of excellence and leadership within the force.

The spokesperson for the Punjab Police elaborated that the IACP annually recognizes exceptional police officers under the age of 40 from around the world, choosing 40 for their outstanding contributions to police work and leadership. The association, with over 34,000 members globally, aims to foster professional police practices aligned with contemporary safety needs.
