Pakistani Rupee Remains Under Pressure Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani Rupee continued its struggle against the US Dollar, closing at 282.55 rupees per dollar in the open market on September 17, 2025, according to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP).

The buying rate for the greenback stood at 282.01 rupees. This sustained depreciation reflects the ongoing challenges facing the nation’s currency.

Other major currencies also saw gains against the Pakistani Rupee. The Euro closed at 337.01 rupees for selling and 334.05 for buying. The British Pound reached 388.37 rupees for selling and 385.05 rupees for buying.

The Japanese Yen traded at 1.94 rupees for selling and 1.89 rupees for buying, while the UAE Dirham concluded the day at 77.95 rupees for selling and 77.19 rupees for buying. The Saudi Riyal was exchanged at 75.89 rupees for selling and 75.25 for buying. These figures come directly from the State Bank of Pakistan.
