Pakistan’s Delicate Diplomacy in Advancing US-Iran Peace Efforts

Islamabad: Former Pakistan envoy Sardar Masood Khan has revealed that despite recent military escalations in the Gulf region, the peace process between the United States and Iran continues to progress. Both nations remain engaged in a sensitive diplomatic effort aimed at preventing a broader regional conflict.

According to Radio Pakistan, Khan, during a televised interview, noted that recent attacks near Bandar Abbas and Kish Island pose significant risks to ongoing negotiations. He warned that the region remains highly volatile and susceptible to renewed escalation.

Highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic role, the former Ambassador stated that Islamabad continues to enjoy the confidence and trust of both Washington and Tehran. Pakistan is carefully facilitating efforts aimed at preserving dialogue and preventing the collapse of negotiations. He emphasized that Pakistan has undertaken this responsibility with caution, balance, and strategic patience.

Masood Khan observed that both Tehran and Washington are interested in avoiding another prolonged military confrontation and are instead pursuing a framework for managed de-escalation. He expressed hope that both sides would soon reach an understanding and continue advancing toward a sustainable diplomatic settlement through dialogue, restraint, and pragmatic compromise.
