Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that the perception of Pakistan’s isolation on the global stage has been countered by the current government through proactive diplomacy at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar spoke to the media in Islamabad, asserting that the country’s consistent diplomatic strategies have expanded its international presence.
He highlighted Pakistan’s recent election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, marking the eighth time it has assumed this role. Dar emphasized that Pakistan is prepared to collaborate with other member states to fulfill its responsibilities.
Responding to inquiries, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism and improving trade and economic relations with Afghanistan, which he believes will also enhance ties with Central Asian countries. In discussing relations with India, he stated that Pakistan is ready for cooperation, contingent on mutual goodwill.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction with the improvement in economic indicators, citing a decrease in inflation to five percent and an increase in exports and remittances. He affirmed that Pakistan’s status as a nuclear and missile power, combined with continued economic progress, would enable it to achieve its rightful standing in the global community.
