Pakistan’s Economy Gaining Momentum, Says Information Minister Attaullah Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that Pakistan’s economy is showing significant improvement, with global recognition of the country’s viable economic policies. He highlighted that Pakistan’s stock market is performing exceptionally well, and the economy is on the rise. According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar addressed a news conference, citing Bloomberg’s assessment that Pakistan’s economy is “taking off.” He further emphasized that the recent visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister led to agreements for Pakistan to export $200 million worth of halal meat and 100,000 tons of rice to Malaysia. Tarar also noted that Pakistan’s exports have increased by 14 percent, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has undergone digitalization without incurring additional costs. The minister confirmed that the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines and other state-owned enterprises is progressing, in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s economic
vision.
