Pakistan’s IT Exports Surpass 2.3 Billion Dollars Amid Digital Growth

Islamabad: Pakistan’s IT exports have surpassed 2.3 billion dollars, driven by initiatives under the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

According to Radio Pakistan, the implementation of a national ‘fiber policy’ has significantly improved connectivity across the country, with 81 percent of the population now having access to 4G coverage. The nation also boasts over 1.5 million active freelancers, contributing to its burgeoning IT sector.

The interest of international IT giants such as Google and Microsoft in the Digital Pakistan program has marked the beginning of a technological revolution within the country. This has been bolstered by a five-year agreement with China, aimed at transferring technology and skills. As part of this agreement, 200,000 university graduates will receive IT skills training, enhancing the workforce’s capabilities.

Furthermore, over 43 modern IT parks have been established nationwide, with significant projects underway in Islamabad and Karachi. These developments aim to create employment opportunities for the youth, further strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global IT landscape.
