Pakistan’s Maritime Sector Witnessing Significant Progress Due to Effective Reforms

Islamabad: Pakistan’s maritime sector is witnessing significant progress as a result of the effective reforms introduced by the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Maritime Affairs.

According to Radio Pakistan, Karachi Port’s global ranking has improved from 99th to 69th position within one year. Port Qasim also recorded a significant improvement in its global ranking, moving from 74th to 56th position.

Karachi Port and Port Qasim have the capacity to handle over one hundred million tonnes of cargo annually. Modern port facilities and improved systems are strengthening Pakistan’s position as a regional transshipment hub.
