Pakistan’s Mining Industry Secures Historic Gold Certification

Islamabad: Pakistan’s mining industry has achieved a significant milestone on the global stage by securing its first-ever gold certification. The Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company has been awarded the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) gold certification, recognizing its effective water use practices in the Thar region.

According to Radio Pakistan, this marks the first instance of any mining company worldwide receiving the prestigious AWS gold certification. The achievement is seen as a testament to the successful policies implemented by the Special Investment Facilitation Council, which have positioned the mining sector on a progressive path.
