Paper Merchants Association urges Chief Minister to stance on discrimination with Punjab in gas and electricity supply

Lahore, January 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has urged the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to stance on discrimination with Punjab in gas and electricity supply.

In a press statement issued here Wednesday, Vice President of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen and leader of Businessmen Group of APPMA termed the massive gas and electricity load shedding in Punjab a well thought conspiracy to destroy the Punjab economy.

They said that federal government is targeting the Punjab industry. They said that Punjab trade and industry condition was already fragile massive gas and electricity load shedding for the Punjab industry would be the last nail in the coffin.

APPMA leaders said that thousands industrial units were closed due to discrimination with Punjab and suspension of gas supply to the Punjab industry. He said that during the tenure of present regime, million industrial workers have lost their jobs, their families are facing troubles but federal government is busy to peruse its political interests.

They said that the destruction would not limited to the Punjab level but national economy would also feel the heat as the most of export-oriented industries were situated in the Punjab and most revenues were also being paid by the Punjab businessmen. Now Punjab industry is being closed and businessmen are on the verge of default.

Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen and Khamis Saeed Butt urged the Punjab Minister Mian Muhammad Sharif to rescue the Punjab Industry and register strong protest against discrimination in electricity gas supply. They assured their full support to the Punjab government in the larger interest of the business community.
