Parliament to Decide on Referendum for New Provinces

Islamabad: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has stated that Parliament is the forum where the issue of the establishment of new administrative units can be debated. He emphasized that the decision regarding a referendum on new provinces would be made by a joint sitting of the Parliament, rather than by the government.

According to Radio Pakistan, while speaking to newsmen in Lahore, Rana Sanaullah Khan also addressed questions regarding political protests. He affirmed that peaceful political protest is a right for everyone, but warned that no one would be permitted to engage in vandalism or violent protests.
