Parliamentary Diplomacy Vital to Promote Regional Peace

Islamabad: Acting President and Founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has emphasized the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting regional peace, understanding, and cooperation. He shared these views during a telephonic conversation with Malaysia’s lower house Speaker Dr. Johari Abdul and the upper house President Datuk Awang Bemee bin Awang Ali Basah.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani extended an invitation to the Malaysian leaders to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference scheduled to be held in Islamabad from the 10th to the 12th of the next month. He commended Malaysia for its steadfast friendship with Pakistan and its constructive role in enhancing inter-parliamentary relations.

The Malaysian leaders expressed their gratitude for the invitation and conveyed their enthusiasm to strengthen collaboration between the parliaments of Pakistan and Malaysia.
