Muzaffarabad: The Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has organized a significant protest scheduled for Sunday at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk to observe Black Day, marking the anniversary of the Indian military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir since 1947.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the leaders of the movement, including Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Vice Chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam, and Usman Ali Hashim, have issued a joint statement. They announced that the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter will conduct a protest demonstration in front of the Central Press Club. The protest aims to draw hundreds of participants to demand the withdrawal of Indian troops from the occupied territory.
The organizers plan for demonstrators to wave black flags and wear black bands as symbols of mourning and resistance against the Indian occupation. They have called upon residents of the capital to join the protest to amplify their demands for freedom and to highlight the plight of those living under severe restrictions imposed by the presence of a large number of Indian military personnel in the region.
Furthermore, leaders have urged people across Azad Jammu and Kashmir to engage in protests at their respective district headquarters, demonstrating widespread resistance against Indian control and showing solidarity with the struggle for Kashmiri self-determination.
