PDMA Issues Alert for Imminent Heavy Rains in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Lahore: Punjab Disaster Management Authority issued an alert about more rains in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and several other districts during the next 24 hours.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Authority’s Spokesman reported that Chenab River is experiencing a low-level flood at Marala, while medium-level floods have been observed at Khanki and Qadirabad. He noted that one hundred and sixty-two people have died in various rain-related incidents in the province this year.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority has also issued an alert about heavy rains with gusty winds in most parts of the province from today until Monday. The provincial authority has directed the concerned parties to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the forecast period.

Tourists are also directed to refrain from visiting hilly areas of the province during the forecast period.
