PDMA Punjab Issues Severe Heatwave Alert for Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sargodha

Lahore: Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab has issued an alert about a severe heatwave in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, as well as Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sargodha Districts from Thursday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the concerned administrations and the public to adopt strict precautionary measures in response to the alert. Rescue 1122 and local health services in the affected districts have been placed on high alert to ensure readiness in dealing with any emergencies arising from the extreme temperatures.

The announcement emphasizes the importance of community awareness and preparedness to mitigate the impact of the forecasted heatwave. The alert is part of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the health and safety of residents in the face of climate-related challenges.
