PEMRA links issuance of new licences to companies already running channels

Islamabad, July 28, 2020 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has decided to link issuance of new licences to the companies already running television channels with their past key performance indicators. This was decided at a meeting in Islamabad with PEMRA Chairman Saleem Baig in the chair.

The authority deferred the decision on all such applications for issuance of new licences while constituting a three-member committee for preparation of regulations in this regard.
