Performance of Wafaqi Mohtasib Office Wins Int’l Recognition: Ejaz

Islamabad: The performance of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office in addressing public complaints has gained international recognition and acclaim. This was stated by Wafaqi Mohtasib, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, while speaking to media persons in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi highlighted that Pakistan, as a founding member of the Asian Ombudsman Association, has secured a prominent position in the organization through strict adherence to international standards and the core values of Ombudsmanship. Qureshi, who currently serves as the President of the Asian Ombudsman Association, announced that the organization plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.

The Wafaqi Mohtasib Office received 180,000 complaints in the first eight months of the year, with over 170,000 resolved. Qureshi expressed confidence that the total number of complaints could reach 250,000 by the end of the year. He also mentioned efforts to support overseas Pakistanis, noting that the office facilitated over 149,000 overseas Pakistanis last year and over 90,000 in the first eight months of the current year, representing a 7.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

The redressal ratio of complaints stands at 93%, reflecting the teamwork at the Wafaqi Mohtasib office. Qureshi expressed confidence that the performance of the Mohtasib Office would improve further with the opening of new regional offices in remote areas of the country.
