Pirzada Urges Integration of Renewable Energy with Climate-Resilient Strategies

Islamabad: Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada has emphasized the importance of prioritizing the integration of renewable energy with climate-resilient strategies. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today, he highlighted the unexploited potential of renewable energy sources in Pakistan, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and bioenergy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Pirzada pointed out that Pakistan receives some of the highest solar isolation in the world, with a potential exceeding 2.9 million megawatts (MW). He also noted that the coastal regions of Sindh and Balochistan have an estimated wind energy potential of approximately fifty thousand MW. The Minister’s remarks underscore the critical need for sustainable energy solutions in the context of climate change and energy demands.
