Plan Chalked Out to Tackle Undocumented Economy: NA

Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed today that a comprehensive plan had been made to address the issue of the undocumented economy of the country, limited tax base, and reliance on regressive taxation.

According to Radio Pakistan, responding to a question during the Question Hour in the House this evening, Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervaiz Malik said the reforms in the tax system is a major priority area of the government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a transformation plan for the Federal Board of Revenue.

The Minister of State said efforts are also being made for the capacity building of the FBR and custom.

The House has been adjourned due to lack of quorum and will now meet tomorrow at 2 p.m.
