Planning Minister Advocates for Enhanced Leather Exports

Karachi: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged collective efforts to elevate leather exports to two billion dollars by 2029 as part of the URAAN PAKISTAN program. During a meeting with leather industry stakeholders at the Pakistan Tanners Association office in Karachi, the Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the leather sector to the national economy.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Minister outlined the government’s strategy to dismantle existing barriers, streamline regulations, and implement exporter-friendly reforms to facilitate a more efficient business environment. He reiterated the government’s dedication to nurturing a supportive atmosphere for exporters and strengthening the nation’s export potential.

Iqbal also highlighted the government’s initiative to balance industrial growth with environmental conservation, addressing pollution control challenges within the leather industry.
