PM Calls for Immediate, Unconditional Ceasefire in Gaza.

Riyadh: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, an arms embargo on Israel, and the lifting of the blockade against Gaza, ensuring prompt delivery of food, water, electricity, and medical aid. In his address to the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh, he stressed the need to pursue the adoption of UNGA’s emergency special session resolution 10/24, which follows up on a historic advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister also called for a comprehensive review of Israel’s membership in the United Nations. Mentioning Israel’s oppression in Gaza, he stated that the humanitarian crisis has reached a level beyond imagination. He highlighted that for over a year, the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly Gaza, has been plunged into darkness and despair, with devastated homes, lives lost, and families torn apart. He questioned how long humanity should ignore hospitals being destroyed, wit
h injured women clutching the lifeless bodies of their infants.

Shehbaz Sharif remarked that these atrocities committed against the Palestinians have been rightfully labeled as genocide, not only by the media but also by the International Court of Justice. With each passing day, every moral code has been flagrantly violated by Israel, yet the killing and destruction continue with no end in sight. He questioned how long this annihilation will be ignored.

The Prime Minister expressed that Israel has been emboldened by the world’s indifference and inaction. There is utter disregard for humanity’s repeated calls for a ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian relief, and the protection of civilians, while houses and their occupants are being destroyed. He noted that the most sophisticated weapons continue to be supplied to Israel, demonstrating unconditional assistance and protection.

Shehbaz Sharif stressed that international humanitarian laws, meant to protect the vulnerable, have been torn to shreds. Humanity is b
eing tested and failing while Gaza bleeds, and the world watches in silence. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinians’ right to self-determination.

Reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support, Shehbaz Sharif endorsed the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders. He stated that this is the only path toward justice and durable peace in the holy land.

The Prime Minister also condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran as a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He denounced Israel’s ongoing military aggression against Lebanon and expressed complete solidarity with its innocent people. He warned that such escalations could unleash a broader war.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the Muslim Ummah is bound by duty, faith, and conscience to stand resolutely with the people of Palestine more than ever before. He declared that this systematic genocide and aggression must not persist.

Meanwhile,
the Prime Minister, on his X account, reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled position to support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. He echoed the Muslim Ummah’s call for an immediate ceasefire, cessation of arms to Israel, and provision of urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected by Israeli actions in Palestine, Lebanon, and the broader region. He highlighted that the summit demonstrated the collective resolve of the Muslim world to support Palestinian brothers and sisters in their just struggle against Israeli occupation and aggression.
