PM Directs NDMA to Enhance Coordination with Provinces on Flood Relief

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to further strengthen its coordination with the provinces to assist and rehabilitate people affected by rains and floods. He issued these directives during a meeting with NDMA Chairman, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, who met the Prime Minister in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring early warning systems for people in vulnerable areas, considering the weather conditions and potential emergencies. The meeting included a briefing on the ongoing relief activities for victims of the recent rains and floods across the country, as well as preparations for any future emergencies.

The Prime Minister was also informed about the progress on making the Early Warning System fully operational in Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, there was a discussion on cooperation with the Ministry of Climate Change to enhance these efforts.
