Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Minister for Petroleum to promptly travel to Karachi and implement measures to alleviate the burden of fuel prices on the public. This directive was given during a meeting with Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was attended by key figures including Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik, and MNA Hamza Shehbaz. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of negotiating with oil refineries to reduce the prices of locally produced diesel, noting that most diesel is produced domestically.
The Prime Minister tasked Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik with the responsibility to engage directly with the refineries and expedite the negotiations to achieve a price reduction. Furthermore, the Prime Minister urged the provision of immediate relief to consumers, highlighting the need for quick action to address the rising fuel costs.
