PM Directs Prompt Completion of Diamer-Bhasha Dam

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that projects like Diamer-Bhasha Dam should be completed on a priority basis to establish an effective system for abundant water storage and energy production in the country. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad regarding Diamer-Bhasha Dam and other water reservoirs, he instructed that all obstacles in the way of construction Diamer-Bhasha Dam must be addressed immediately to ensure its early completion.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that the construction of new dams is essential for increasing water storage capacity, ensuring sufficient water supply for agriculture, and preventing floods. He noted that economic self-reliance depends on affordable electricity and agriculture. For this, enhancing water storage and ensuring its efficient utilization are crucial steps.
