PM Directs SMEDA to Develop Financial Support Strategy for Small and Medium-Sized Industries

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to develop a comprehensive strategy to provide financial support to small and medium-sized industries and entrepreneurs nationwide.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting held in Islamabad, the Prime Minister emphasized that promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring equal facilities and uniform technical assistance across all regions should be SMEDA’s primary objectives. He highlighted the importance of expanding ongoing SMEDA programs that aim to increase women’s participation in small and medium-sized industries and businesses.

Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif stressed the effective utilization of digital platforms to provide local entrepreneurs with access to national and international markets. He urged SMEDA to create a business development strategy that covers as many regions and sectors as possible. The Prime Minister also called for special initiatives to organize production and commercial linkages for agricultural commodities.

The meeting was informed about the various measures being taken at every level to strengthen small and medium-sized industries and support entrepreneurs.
