PM Giving Special Attention to Digital Inclusion of AJK, GB: IT Minister

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, highlighted that the prime minister is prioritizing the digital inclusion of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) to ensure their participation in the nation’s digital advancement.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister’s remarks came during a meeting with Caretaker Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Justice retired Yar Muhammad Nasir, and GB Minister for IT Ghulam Abbas in Islamabad. The discussions focused on the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative and the formulation and execution of the National Digital Master Plan.

Both parties agreed to expedite a comprehensive digitalization strategy across Pakistan, emphasizing balanced digital development in all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan. The federal minister instructed the Pakistan Digital Authority to develop a plan aimed at generating employment opportunities for the youth in Gilgit-Baltistan and enhancing the region’s digital economy.
