PM Lauds PKLI for 1000 Successful Liver Transplants

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude over the milestone of 1000 successful liver transplants achieved by the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI).

According to Radio Pakistan, in a statement, the Prime Minister highlighted that 4 million patients have benefited from the facility since its inception in 2017. He noted that the functioning of the Institute faced challenges in the past due to political victimization. However, upon assuming office as Prime Minister in 2022, he took measures to revive the Institute.

The Prime Minister praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her efforts in harnessing the full potential of PKLI. He emphasized that PKLI provides free of cost, international standard facilities to 80 percent of its patients.

Additionally, the Prime Minister commended PKLI CEO Dr. Saeed Akhtar and his entire team for their significant role in saving lives and serving humanity through the Institute’s services.
