PM Seeks Plan to Introduce Modern Agri-Financing System for Farmers

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the formulation of a comprehensive plan by the end of this month to provide farmers with easy loans and to introduce a modern agri-financing system aligned with contemporary requirements. Chairing a meeting regarding the agriculture sector in Islamabad, he emphasized that Pakistan’s progress is closely linked to the development of the agricultural sector and the value addition to farmers’ produce.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted that providing facilities to small farmers is among the top priorities for the development of the agricultural sector. He stated that the government is accelerating reforms to equip farmers with modern agricultural machinery, quality seeds, AI technology, improved water usage, on-farm small industry, and other necessary facilities.

The reforms will also include measures for providing training and facilities to farmers for processing agricultural produce in order to boost exports. The government aims to ensure that farmers have access to the necessary tools and resources to enhance their productivity and contribute effectively to the country’s economy.
