Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the profit recorded by PIA. PIA has achieved an operating profit of 9.3 billion rupees and net profit of 26.2 billion rupees after more than two decades.
According to Radio Pakistan, in a post on his X handle, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described it as a major turnaround after decades of losses. He commended Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif and his team in aviation for their efforts.
In a post on his X handle, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that through the government’s rigorous steps and comprehensive reforms entailing cost and workforce rationalization, routes optimization, and financial discipline, PIA is poised to capitalize on financial performance through the privatization process.
