Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its friendly relations with the Russian Federation. He highlighted the importance of utilizing bilateral mechanisms to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation during his meeting with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to expand cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and economic development. He expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in Pakistan-Russia relations and stressed the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The Russian Interior Minister, in turn, expressed Russia’s readiness to collaborate closely with Pakistan to enhance bilateral engagement. He noted Russia’s desire to strengthen ties and expand cooperation in areas of shared interest, appreciating Pakistan’s support at multilateral forums like the United Nations.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to strengthen cooperation in combating organized crime, marking another step in the growing relations between the two countries.
