PM Shehbaz Sharif Seeks to Enhance Pakistan-UK Relations

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing ties with the United Kingdom, expressing the country’s intent to deepen cooperation across various sectors during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion underscored the longstanding and historic relationship between Pakistan and the UK, with both parties keen on expanding collaboration in trade and investment, climate change, social connectivity, and other key areas of mutual interest. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the strategic importance of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK, noting their pivotal role in bridging the two nations.

Further, Sharif stressed the significance of addressing Pakistan’s current economic challenges as part of the government’s priorities. He also conveyed best wishes to King Charles, reciprocating the positive sentiments expressed by the British High Commissioner, who delivered the best wishes of the British government to Pakistan.
