PM Shehbaz Sharif to Attend Victory Day Events in Azerbaijan

Baku: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan from today to participate in the events marking the 5th anniversary of Victory Day, being commemorated in Baku. He is visiting Baku at the invitation of President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. During the visit, the Prime Minister will attend the official Victory Day celebrations and hold a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Radio Pakistan, discussions will focus on reviewing the entire gamut of bilateral relations and identifying new avenues to further deepen cooperation in sectors including trade and investment, energy, defence, education, and regional connectivity. Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy long-standing fraternal relations, rooted in shared faith, history, culture, and mutual trust.

The two countries also maintain close cooperation in regional and international fora, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Economic Cooperation Organization, and the United Nations. The visit by the Prime Minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and to further advance the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
