PM Shehbaz to Visit Azerbaijan for Bilateral Discussions

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a two-day state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on Monday at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev. This visit marks his second trip to the country since taking office in March 2024.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz will be joined by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other key cabinet members. This delegation reflects Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its engagement with Azerbaijan.

During the visit, discussions will focus on areas of mutual interest, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation in sectors such as energy, trade, defense, education, and climate. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements are expected to be signed to bolster cooperation in these areas.

Additionally, the Prime Minister is set to deliver a keynote speech at a Business Forum organized in collaboration with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO). This forum is intended to explore new avenues for economic collaboration between the two nations.

The relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan is characterized by mutual trust and beneficial cooperation, with Azerbaijan being a key economic and strategic partner for Pakistan. The Prime Minister’s visit highlights Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening these ties and exploring further opportunities for shared development.
