PM Urges Unity for Country’s Progress, Development

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called on all coalition parties to build on the spirit of unity for the progress and development of the country. He addressed members of the Senate and National Assembly in Islamabad on Friday, following the approval of the federal budget for 2025-26.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all coalition parties for their role in the preparation and approval of the budget. He emphasized that with this ideal unity, everyone must work together for the economic stability of the country.

Referring to Pakistan’s recent victory against Indian aggression, the Prime Minister highlighted that the armed forces, political leadership, people, civil society, and media of Pakistan unitedly crushed the enemy’s designs. He noted that this victory has elevated Pakistan’s prestige within the international community.

The Prime Minister praised the diplomatic delegation led by Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, for clarifying Pakistan’s position and exposing India’s intentions on the global stage. He mentioned that the delegation received international recognition, and overseas Pakistanis warmly welcomed it, paying tribute to the government and armed forces for the victory against India.

Discussing the Middle East situation, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran during the Israeli aggression. He stated that he has been in contact with the Iranian leadership, particularly President Masoud Pezeshkian, and emphasized that resolving the Israel-Iran conflict could pave the way for peace and prosperity in the region.
