Islamabad: On the occasion of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, emphasized the profound impact of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings on environmental sustainability and urged the nation to engage in tree planting. The ceremony, held at Shakarparian National Park, was part of the ‘Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme’ aimed at enhancing environmental practices across the country.

According to Press Information Department, the PM’s climate aide highlighted the importance of tree planting as both a noble act of charity and a crucial practice for ecological and human sustainability. Alam inaugurated the event by planting a sapling, symbolizing the start of a nationwide initiative to honor the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. She underscored that similar events were coordinated by provincial forest and wildlife departments across the country, reflecting a unified effort to embrace sustainable practices.

The event saw participation from various federal officials and members of civil society organizations, demonstrating a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. She expressed hope that by adopting sustainable practices like tree planting, both Muslims and non-Muslims are fulfilling their duty as stewards of the Earth.

This initiative not only commemorates a significant religious event but also aligns with modern environmental conservation efforts, aiming to foster a greener planet and improve quality of life through cleaner air, increased biodiversity, and sustainable livelihoods.
