Muzaffarabad: Polling for seven reserved seats of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be held tomorrow. The elections are set to take place at the Legislative Assembly Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to Radio Pakistan, Abdul Rehman of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has already been declared elected unopposed on the Overseas Kashmiri reserved seat. The competition for the remaining seats includes candidates from both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party.
For the five women’s reserved seats, four candidates represent the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, while three candidates stand for the Pakistan Peoples Party. The technocrat seat sees a contest between Barrister Iftikhar Gilani of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Meanwhile, the Ulema and Mashaikh seat will be contested by Pir Mazhar Ali Shah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Hafiz Tariq Mehmood of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
