Port Qasim’s Cargo Handling Rises to 47 Million Tonnes

Islamabad: Significant improvements have been recorded in Port Qasim’s performance and cargo handling under the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Maritime Reforms. Port Qasim’s cargo handling has increased from forty-five million tons to forty-seven million tons.

According to Radio Pakistan, continuous dredging is underway to maintain the required depth in Port Qasim’s navigation channels. Along with improved port operations, important reforms have also been introduced in the customs clearance system. The introduction of faceless customs assessment at Port Qasim has enhanced transparency and made the clearance process more efficient.
