President and Prime Minister Commit to Nationwide Digital Expansion

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed the government’s commitment to expand digital access and improve connectivity across the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate messages on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day being observed today, they paid tribute to all individuals associated with the telecommunications sector in Pakistan for their professional commitment. The President highlighted that Pakistan’s telecommunications sector continues to contribute significantly to national development.

President Asif Ali Zardari mentioned that efforts are underway to advance fiber deployment and finalize satellite communications regulations for remote regions. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to the rapid implementation of 5G in the country, the completion of the National Fiberization Policy, and the promotion of local device manufacturing.

The Prime Minister also noted that the country’s digital sector is growing, with annual IT exports reaching 3.8 billion dollars.
