President Calls for Prompt Resolution of Harassment Complaints

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has stressed the need to strengthen monitoring mechanisms to ensure that complaints of workplace harassment are resolved promptly and efficiently. He was talking to the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace, Fauzia Viqar, who called on him in Islamabad today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the President appreciated the role of FOSPAH in safeguarding individuals against workplace harassment and called for increased awareness initiatives about the services provided by the institution. He emphasized that complaints should be examined fairly and on merit, with due process ensuring that genuine cases of harassment are addressed promptly while allegations are assessed carefully in accordance with the law.

Asif Ali Zardari was informed that FOSPAH received over eleven hundred harassment complaints during 2024-25 and decided over one thousand, while over three hundred and fifty complaints relating to property deprivation were received and two hundred and thirty-eight were decided. On this occasion, the President received the Annual Report 2025 of the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment from Fauzia Viqar.
