President Emphasizes Newspapers’ Role in Democracy Strengthening

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has highlighted the indispensable role newspapers play in fostering an informed citizenry and bolstering democracy. In his message on National Newspaper Readership Day, he stressed the importance of newspaper reading among the youth and called on educational institutions to actively encourage this practice.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari praised the All-Pakistan Newspapers Society for its annual observance of this day. He urged the print media to uphold the highest standards of ethics, impartiality, and responsibility. The President also reiterated that while press freedom is crucial to democracy, it should always be exercised with truth, balance, and fairness.
